Ororo Munroe was orphaned as a small child. An air raid bombed her home killing her parents and burying her alive. The experience left an indelible mark on her life making her intensely afraid of closed in places. Living on the streets of Cairo as a thief, Ororo Munroe moved on to Kenya where her power to control the weather had tribal people there worshipping her as if she were a god. Moving to America, Ororo linked up with the X-Men. A respected and trusted member, she has assumed the role as their leader many times.

By commanding the weather conditions around her, Ororo can create fog, snow, rain, summon lightening, generate intense winds and summon storms.

Storm left the X-Mansion once again to lead a team of mutants in search of the diaries of the blind mutant seer known as Destiny, which map out human history.
