Onslaught is the darker side of Professor Charles Xavier. After Xavier cleaned Magneto's mind on Asteroid M (X-Men #25), Xavier had Magneto's thoughts and tried to keep [them] under, but couldn't. [Professor Xavier] eventually created a god-like being called Onslaught who would destroy both mutants and humans.

After destroying most of the heroes of the Marvel Universe, [Onslaught] vanished.
